Description
GIBBONS, District Judge. Appellants Stanley Woodbridge, James Moss, Douglas Hairston and Kevin Williams were all prisoners at the Ohio State Reformatory (OSR) on February 22, 1987, and on that date participated in a prison protest demonstration. Subsequently, pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983, they sued appellees, who are OSR officials, for alleged deprivations of appellants' constitutional rights arising out of the officials' handling of the demonstration. A jury returned a verdict in favor of appellees. Appellants now argue that the evidence at trial did not support the jury verdict and that the trial court thus abused its discretion in denying their motion for new trial. They also assert that the trial court erred in its jury instruction on supervisory liability.
